Visited the lakes for the first time earlier this month Joyo, loved it.
Mind you after doing Blencathra via sharp edge on the afternoon we got there I was all right for any more. I am getting better with heights but edges can fucking do one.
Took myself off the day they did Helvellyn and went Mountain biking over Gosforth instead.

Hiked up Scarfell Pyke yesterday the long way from langdale...fuck me in that heat it was tough,3hrs 20mins up and 3hrs down...love the heat but maybe not on a mountain as nowhere to hide in shade

Dedham is lovely, so is Flatford Mill. When Mersea gets too busy, try Brightlingsea, nice by the marina there.

DId I mention I have done a Nigel Rio Joker and purchased myself a soft top (Well not exactly, SLK) figured that I was young enough to still get in and out but old enough not to give a fuck about opinions.
Perfect weather for just driving out.

Since we are talking glorious Essex Activities
Saturday morning Early 30 mile cycle on the Essex/Suffolk border then paddle boarding in Dedham.
Drove to Mersea Island on Saturday afternoon to maybe get some seafood but too many others had the same idea, car parks, restaurants and pubs all rammed and I am still trying to avoid built up places. So we came home and drank BOOZE in the garden.
Sunday cycled out to Hadleigh, had a quiet Brunch then cycled back. BOOZE whilst watching a Brit win the British Grand Prix.
Sorry Block but you are wrong this weather is magnificent.

Cheers for that mate, whilst the boy's a bit young, still worth a day out down there with the wife, beats going over our local park and playing dodgeball with the cricketers smashing the ball at you.

Yes, CLACTON, I was pleasantly surprised. Its no Monte Carlo, but compared to the complete shithole it was ten years ago (and Jaywick still is) its been transformed.
My girls are 4 and 11, so the pavilion funfair and mini water park were ideal. Ate at two cafes, still cheap as chips. Sea was like the med, warmest for ages.

To be fair most of the runs have started around 5:30am so not too bad heat wise. The odd one I've had to do a bit later have been horrendous!!

You should try the SMOKING ROOM in the airport if you thought that was bad.
There's little point in sparking up in there the amount of smoke in there. Just go in and breathe and you'll easily get your fix.
